Imperial Monarch

Neither Tige nor Talla styled themselves as Imperial Monarch. It was a title given to the first of their children elected to the role, their oldest daughter, Velm. Too, it was Velm who established the Goldstone family name when she married.

Requirements

The Council of Regents is responsible for ensuring that the Monarch's children have all of the education and skills required to serve the people as the leader of the government, while the family is responsible for nurturing the children's individual interests and the cultural responsibilities of leadership.

Appointment

The Monarch is elected from among the elegible children of the previous Monarch. Those who don't wish to be considered for the appointment are free to withdraw from the election process.

Duties

The primary duty of the role is to serve as an exemplary presence, especially in times of turmoil or disaster, leading progress foward toward the betterment of all peoples; to set an example of cultural, spiritual, moral, and economic values.

Responsibilities

The position involved a great deal of travel around the islands, maintaining relationships, participating in local customs, overseeing the smoothing of regional turbulances. Regular visits from a concerned leader go a long way toward maintaining harmony among disparate groups of people.
