Personal history
Veran enlisted himself to be part of the Gaian Guard upon coming of age. He proved quite capable as a soldier and was selected to be part of a special soldier class known as 'Warrior'. Warriors are sent on special missions abroad for various reasons, such as politics or rescue missions. During one particular rescue mission, he met a woman who would later become his future wife. Together they had two boys. The oldest, Jaeb is part of the Gaian Guard and hopes to follow in his fathers footsteps giving Veran much pride. The other son, Wren was less focused and had a hard time choosing a profession. Veran percieved this as some sort of laziness due to an easy lifestyle. Wren would not be swayed after he fell in league with some Anisal, and Veran could no longer look upon his son. Worried about the family's reputation, he disowned Wren and reported him to the Ruler's of Gaia, who stripped Wren of his status.
At the beginning of the story, Veran is Commander of the Gaian Guard, and proud father to his son Jaeb.
