Nymarga the Green Sage
(a.k.a. The Keeper, The Eternal Tyrant, Fanedweller.)
Overview
Nymarga the Green Sage is a deity reviled and feared by most of the People of the Blood (elves, orcs and humans). In his time on Creation, he forged an empire from nothing that bled the world of countless lives all in the pursuit of his ultimate goal of immortality. Despite an early life of hedonistic excess, he was obsessive and driven by jealousy and envy. Later on, Nymarga focused on his own designs for himself to the expense of all else. It was that conviction that saw him rise from a relatively unknown orphan to a skilled practitioner of the magical arts and finally as one who would deign to rule all the Earth in defiance of the Divine. He would destroy nations, murder monarchs, and enslave entire populations for later sacrifice. He would seek and discover all nine of Yhera's Temples, he would hold a goddess hostage, and attain ascension by an act of unholy sacrifice and divine extortion.
His name is spoken in whispers amongst secret followers. Nymarga enjoys the worship of the privileged and the aristocratic most often, and his Mystery Cults are hidden deep in many cities, schools and orders of men, elves and orcs. While he is viewed as an enemy to most in the Old Faith, his influence is increasingly seen as a threat to the the tenets of those who hold to the Divine King.
In Mortal Life
Upon discovering the secrets of necromancy and undeath that were hidden into the fabric of Creation by Seedrik the Exiled King, the mortal Nymarga became disillusioned by the edicts of Creation and specifically the cycle of life and death. He pursued knowledge and power to ultimately bypass those divine edicts, and it brought him into direct conflict with the adherents of the Old Faith. He acted immediately to remove those obstacles to his goal; and as such, his actions are viewed by those who openly and secretly venerate him as being justified and measured in his pursuits.
