Extinction
The Rebellion would be successful, but at the cost of losing focus on the Worm's ultimate goal. Nymarga had located and conquered the Ninth Temple of Yhera on the Lundar Plateau. He had brought with him the twin star goddesses of the Dawn and Dusk, and he used what Seedrik taught him to empower a ritual that would rip their essence from them and infuse it into him. Arrayed around the Plateau were the remainder of the Black Empire's legions: the undead, the twisted and the enslaved. The Last Battle was terrible in its destructiveness and the toll it took on the life essence of the People of the Blood. It would only end with the intercession of Ashnod the Grim, who had embraced other means of preserving her life, whose suicidal attack opened up an opportunity for Mishra and his fellowship to enter the Ninth Temple and stop Nymarga. He would successfully release the twin stars, but he would fail at preventing Nymarga from ascending. Despite their efforts, and despite the use of the Unsound at the Last Battle -- the Worm King would escape, but what remained of his empire would be the merest dust.
