Tailberry Bush

A breed of bush found in the Eastern Fiirwood, tailberry bushes are so called for their long, almost vine-like branches that extend from their central bodies. These "tails" are covered in dark-green, oily leaves and burnished orange thorns, both of which are highly infectious, known to cause rashes and even dangerous infections when scratching the skin. The blood-red berries have many names: tailberries of course, as well as redberries, bloodberries, and especially Siiari berries. Local wisdom claims that Leante stomachs are unaccustomed to the berries, and eating them results in terrible illness, while Siiari peasants are known to eat of them when alone in the wilderness. Siiari teenagers will sometimes experience falling-outs with their parents and briefly leave them. They usually return, but these periods of separation are often called "tailberry travels" or "tailberry pilgrimages."
