Lolliseri, Host of Pilgrims

Lolliseri

One of the Twelve High Hosts that rule over the Heavens.   Lolliseri is called the Temptress, as she is the personification of adventure, the will to travel and to stray. She is both the drive to visit holy places, as well as the gnawing desire to abandon responsibilities and betray one's love. It is sometimes said she tempts the Summer harvests, and that only the greatest foisons can survive her.   Lolliseri is sometimes depicted as a partner in Esakr's rebellion against the Hosts. She is also sometimes shown, especially in the earliest myths, as a tempter of mortals into sin, being particularly disdainful of them. Many early tales of man's folly include mentions of Lolliseri deceiving someone or showing them a harsh truth. Paradoxically, she is also credited with appearing to Ullagh the Walker and guiding him south through the Pass of Peril into Milos. For this reason, she is seen more as a symbol of adventure and curiosity in the Peninsula, especially in the southern half.   Lolliseri is oft depicted with voluminous gold and silver hair, dressed either in ethereal gowns or traveler's garb, wearing a circlet of stars. In statues and portraits she is frequently holding a rod of holly, used either to direct travelers or judge transgressors. For this reason, her likeness can sometimes be found in great halls where lords pass judgment. Traveling hostesses often carry a small idol of Lolliseri, both to protect their travels and to grant them sound judgment.   Lolliseri's colors are yellow and white. Her bird is the goldfinch. Her beast is the Goat. Her month is the fifth month, called the Lo Moon or the Walker's Moon. Her constellation is the River. She is associated with confidence, adventure, and distraction. She is considered the patron of Elnar, the seventh Royarch, who is sometimes believed to be the true identity of Ullagh the Walker, and other times thought to be the King that Ullagh sought to break from.   Common Aspects: Lolliseri Aslu (the tempter), Lolliseri Fairor (the watcher), Lolliseri Geasa (the speller)
