Deiad

A divine queen that rules over the Carnad Diarchy. A Deiad rules for life. Upon a Deiad's death, the replacement is named by the surviving Deiad. There are always two, and no ruling is considered valid until a second is named.
There are two distinct Deiads: that of Blood, who governs international matters, and that of Water, who governs domestic matters.
