"Magnus, what are you doing up so late? You should be sleeping..." Calum said as he rubbed his eyes fighting the sleep out of them.
"I had a bad dream," Magnus replied staring at his feet and shuffling back and forth on his little feet and holding tight to his stuffed animal. "I don't want to be alone."
"Come up here then," Calum said kindly patting the spot on the large bed beside him.
"Are you sure? I don't want to be a bother," Magnus said holding tighter to the stuffed animal and hiding his face further into it.
"I've always thought these beds were too big for me anyway, come on," Calum said reaching out a hand to his younger brother. Magnus reached out and grabbed his older brother's hand and let himself be hauled onto the bed. Magnus believed to this day that Calum pulled too hard and ended up pulling Magnus to his chest, but in truth, Calum had known his little brother needed a hug so he'd pulled him into one. Regardless of the reason as soon as he was pressed up against his brother's chest Magnus held tight to his brother and started crying into his chest. To be fair the younger boy had already been crying it was just worse now that he'd finally been permitted to be a child again.
Hours later Magnus was asleep having told his brother of the nightmare and having cried to his heart's content. Calum, however, was still awake staring at his younger brother's face still stained with the mark of tears. "This life will kill your spirit and you, my baby brother," Calum said frowning even at the young age of seven he knew as much. Calum noticed the worn-out stuffed animal lying off to the side of his little brother. He picked it up and remembered the years he had held onto the small animal. A greater Laulanzi Wolf, he couldn't help but wonder what had possessed his parents to give them a demon dog as their comfort animal. What was the worth of telling them this creature of darkness and death would protect them? Darkness was evil, death was cruel, and there was no protection in either of them. Nonetheless, it was the only stuffed animal they had, the only thing that tied them to childhood these days, so he slid it gently into his younger brother's arms and prayed to any deity out there that it would at least protect his brother.
Unaware to either of the boys now both resting peacefully, something out in the darkness answered the young prince's plea for safety and protection. Something swore that should Magnus O'Connell ever need assistance, it would be there. It would help the young prince one of the two people vital to the return of what the Kingdom Amaryllis should be, only they could save the once great nation and return it to its former nature. Further out in the distance even beyond that, something else lurked and hearing the plea of a brave young boy who cared deeply it recognized his heart and swore loyalty to a little prince who would one day be king.

General Physical Condition
His body type is a mixture of lithe and muscular in short he's lean and muscular. He's capable of using just about every weapon in the Amaryllian armory. Very athletic and physically able.

Tanned skin (would be pale but he spends a lot of time outdoors and his skin tans really easy and well), blond hair, hazel green eyes mostly green, jagged scars on his back and shoulders, callouses on his hands and a few scars on his hand too, freckles, lots and lots of freckles all over, a beautiful smile that just makes everything seem better, and a muscular but lean body.

Diamond face shape, angled eyebrows, upturned eyes, freckles, sharp cheekbones, sharp jawline, and slight point to his ears.
Identifying Characteristics
Birthmark of a crown on the back of his ankle, jagged scars on back and shoulder, burn (brand) in the shape of a crowned skull with a scythe on the left side of his head just above the ear (hidden by his hair).
Physical quirks
Ambidextrous, straight posture very rarely slouches, frequently rolls shoulders as he sometimes feels a phantom pain in his shoulders, walks with hands in his pockets almost all the time.

The fabric of the highest quality, regal style but still simple, he tries not to be too flashy but the quality of the clothes is a dead giveaway that he is royalty. Wears a family ring and a simple necklace that he keeps hidden under his clothes, one often can't even see the chain of the necklace

The necklace is just a metal chain with three objects on it, a ring from the man who he watched commit suicide, a coin that he got from Magnus when they were younger, and a ring from Alessandra he wears it as a reminder to protect those he loves and that no matter where he is his family is always there and he represents them and affects them even when he is far removed from them, he adds to the necklace as important people arrive in his life

Personal history
The eldest of three Prince Julius O'Connell was born in the Glass Castle and has been raised since birth for one purpose and one alone to take over the throne from his father. Childhood never existed for the young boy being groomed to be king, no he had a childhood from the ages of 0 to 3, but after that, it was gone. His was a life of responsibility as soon as he could walk and talk. He grew up being taught of responsibility and of ruling a nation, being in charge. He had very few friends and he spent very little time out of the castle. Something in him changed later, at the age of 13, Julius asked to start being called Calum it was a long process but now all but the King, his father, call him Calum. No one knows why he decided to change his name, but all assume it is tied to the reason his personality changed rapidly the day after his 13th birthday. Ever since then he has continued in his studies training and learning as much as he is able in order to one day take control of the nation Amaryllis. He threw himself into his studies in order to be the best man he could be and be the best ruler he could as well. He endeavored to be a well-rounded person who understood his people and treated them well and knew how to help them. He didn't want to be the kind of man he knew

A royal education, tutored by the wisest and smartest in their fields throughout all of Amaryllis included combat and strategy training as well as instruction in how to lead a country, politics and relationships, economics, math, science, literature, and studied painting, sculpting, and dancing.

He goes undercover as a peasant and gets a job as a blacksmith outside the castle, later he runs off with Nadja and gets a job in an inn and even later gets a job as a farmer and then technically as a pirate and a sailor as they travel from place to place and he ends up picking up a lot of careers
Accomplishments & Achievements
To be honest he doesn't believe he's accomplished anything, he's a crown prince but what does that even mean, everything he has has been given to him for free. His only real achievements are that he's worked hard to be the man he is today. He studied and threw himself into learning and excelled at it. There was so much he couldn't do and he often feels like a failure. He just doesn't recognize that he's far more prepared to be king than his father ever was and his father took over as the king when he was much older than Calum is now. Of all the princes he is the youngest to enter the important council meetings and to be included in the discussion of what to do. He's actually accomplished a lot he just doesn't realize it.
Failures & Embarrassments
He once fell asleep in an important meeting because he was bored and tired having stayed up extremely late the night before reading a book about some of the more dangerous creatures and their legends in Amaryllis. He eventually fell out of his throne after being startled awake and yelling "No, Fluffy, please don't kill me!" (Fluffy is Alessandra's cat), the council ended up looking at him like he was crazy. He also once tripped coming out of a carriage and fell right on his face in front of some important and powerful foreign dignitaries from Dasdra.

He couldn't save the man who his father essentially murdered by pushing him to suicide and he couldn't protect his siblings from the life of royalty he watched them fall apart and he watched their lives get ruined and he watched them change and he couldn't do anything

He didn't have a childhood and his father wasn't very affectionate and he was raised as a crown prince who very rarely left the palace all of this left scars on him and altered the way he grew up.

He recognizes that lives will have to be lost and sacrificed but as far as he's concerned if someone's going to die there's going to be a good reason for it and if there's not then he's got nothing to do with it. He wants to be the best king he can be and a kind person. He just really wants to help and protect people and make this a better nation for his citizens and the people he cares about. He got jaded really quick and he's using this cynical perspective to make sure others don't turn out like him.

Extremely good with any strategy based things and being sneaky and cunning, good at chess, clever, extremely bad at connecting with people on anything deeper than a superficial level, good at acting the part but not very good at being genuine, as clever as he is he still has no idea what the world outside of Astra is like, he's emotionally distant and unwilling to truly trust and he cares so much which is both a good thing and a bad thing.
