Unveiler

"The truth is not always easy to learn, it's a power which can both be breaking and making. Just like everything else which is pure, corruption can forge it into a weapon of destruction. Some secrets and some regrets, are often better left undisturbed - so that the sands of time may slowly cleanse those wounds, before they can be torn open anew." - Unveiler

Style

The sword itself is shaped like a common longsword, with a slim crossguard above a fleshbound handle - that ends with a pommel which is a large, lizardlike blue eye which sentiently rolls around in it's socket. Even more smaller eyes stretch above whole blade, made from an unkown metal forever changed by the dark blue veins which stretch between the eyes, crossguard, handle and pommel. Due to this abyssal corruption, the weapon itself is near immortal and always perfectly maintained, where it can siphon the blood from fallen victims into it's eyes - thus also learning of the entire history of said bloodline. All in all though, without the all-knowing whispering sentience, it's a terrible weapon by the fleshy design.

History

He was once a god. A nightmare of a thousand eyes which witnessed all truths and lies from the abyss. An entity which whispered it's knowledge to mortal minds, knowing that they would not be able to comprehend or stay calm to the countless realities he would unravel. Turning brother against brother, sister against sister and breeding civil war and carnage for every unpleasant truth that came out.   In the end, something had to be done against hate constructing foe, which created two different factions - the Church of Forgiveness and the scientists behind the creation of the Scalehorde. The first being a group of enlightened souls that cast their differences aside to stand together against the abyssal spawn, united in the forging of a blade which was capable of destroying the creature. The scientists however, believed that emotional creatures would never be able to hold together for long enough to see there quest through to the sweet or bitter end. Through genetical experimentation, they created a horde of emotionless serpentine creatures from forced chemborg mutations. The hate breathing people now rendered an instrument to destroy the armies of the great truthsayer and finally lay an end to his madness.   In the end, both factions managed to halfheartedly succeed in their quests. The Scalehorde did it's duty in ravaging through any voidspawn which stood between them and their god - while the Church of Forgiveness used this to their advantage to cut a path through it's lair deep beneath the ruins of Kch'zhatan, where a final blow was delivered to the abyssal amalgation. One which sealed it's mind away into the blade, to be buried within the ruins forever.   Only one last truth was spoken before the old god faced defeat. A call throughout the nearby lands which exposed the crimes of the scientists doing, along with the power that would be free for anyone's taking in those catacombs. Although the Church of Forgiveness despised their methodes, they came to protect the scientists to the bitter end, as they had the Scalehorde sealed within the catacombs - forever awaiting to protect their hoard should the path into the ruins once more open.

Significance

The Unveiler holds a significant cultural importance for the Dyskhari, as secret plots and schemes runs deep within their Imperium. The release of the Scalehorde would mean dark days. The rule of the Eel whom holds the blade is bad, but not nearly on the same scale of the horde being unleashed. Nor would both of them combined be able to topple the structures of the Dyskhari Imperium, even though the blood and destruction of such would be horrific, it is still a war they would win in the end. Unlike the power that the great truthsayer hold - should he be released from the weapon.
