Niedri Thoth - Abyssal Lord

Biography of Occult Entity

Physicality

Outside of the illusion of shadow and smoke that radiates from this subject, the creature itself shares the form of a massive spider with a black carapace with glowing scarlet patches that shine through its plate.   The entity has a terrible maw with a hundred teeth, accompanying its six glowing eyes. It still shows signs of poor eye-sight as unable to identify threats out in the open if too far from the subject. Rather, the hairs that grow on the arachnids legs and feet seem to work as its sensory organs that may pick up vibrations and wavelengths.

Personality

This entity has a highly unstable personality and takes glee in murder and carnage. They show clear signs of sadistic tendencies where they prefer a kill to be slow and gruesome rather than swift, clean and calculated.   The creature is also oddly skittish. Preferring to flee direct combat and can even be intimidated into running by threats they believe can be backed up. A queer trait, for a being considering itself as an apex predator feeding from fear.

Aspirations

Niedri Thoth has made it clear that they seek power from fear. Through spinning webs of intrigue, cults and clever plots they directly aim to break the balance of the scales. To tear down formal establishments and breed unrest and wars where their own agents take the positions of governors, advisors and other people of significant powers.   Though their end goal has never been uncovered, a theory points to this creature serving the void as an instigator of chaos. A spy of something more powerful out there, that aims to weaken the defences of this world, before laying siege.   The evidence being that the worshippers of Niedri Thoth more often than not serve several abyssal lords at the same time, though are still generously gifted with their blessings. For a spider, they are surprisingly altruistic and has even sent several agents on suicide missions to free other rival entities from their clutches. Regardless of their relationships.

Capture

The capture of this entity proved surprisingly easy. After the hunter Kasus Khzar entered an old factory run by the new dwarven state, a cell of Niedri Thoth worshippers was uncovered in the abandoned depths.   After slaying most members of the cell the leader was easily persuaded to give the hunter a lead into the Deadlands, within a valley fittingly named The Dire Passage.   Entering the caves within, the hunter found several eldritch eggs with foul energies pulsating within. Our holiest Sarak confirms these vessels to be growing containers of the entity's victims that slowly transform into vicious spawn.   After blowing up the nest, the entity attacked the hunter face on and was aptly neutralised and caged away within the dark. Held by a runic-cubical construct guarded by the spectres of their victims.

  Subject: SP307RE - Niedri Thoth
  Threat Level: High
Manifestation: This entity manifests through a vicious dark smoke with several bloodthirsty red eyes gazing out of the mists.
Powers: Control of shadows, invisibility, super speed and agility, bloodlust with pain immunity and the ability to communicate with spiders.
Dangers: Highly unstable. This being feeds from chaos, destruction and bloodspill. Especially through sowing discord from assassinations and intrigue, to pit brother against brother.   Weaknesses: Clumsy form, hard time to protect vital joints. Easily neutralised from behind, just beware of assassin bodyguards and primal instinct.

Recording of the hunt:

A smell of blood and rot hit Kasus, as he stepped into the dark cave. Moisture dripped from the walls and roof inside, as a foul warmth breached the cold of the Deadlands and melted the snow that encroached within its territory.   Drawing his two sicles, he looked towards his shadow veiled companion, which gave the nod for him to delve into the depths.   Skittering sounds could be heard all over, as he carefully avoided stepping into the sticky webs that coated the rock interior. Small malformed spiders were crawling around all over here. Guarding red glowing sacks that held an azure sheen within, picked up by his necrotic eyes.   “So, this is the cause of all the misery. A killer's hatchery is where we have found ourselves, my friend.”   “Good thing we brought along the fireworks.” His illusionary comrade called out dryly.
