The Clawed Circle
The Clawed Circle refers to group of Arcanborne that would take up arms to travel and train to prepare to defend the Arcanborne from external threats. The Clawed Circle were not beholden to one citadel as the members were from all the citadels. While many were confused about the idea of such a group existing for the Arcanborne, who maintain an ideology of peace, the need became evident when the Clawed Circle prevented an invasion from an overly ambitious general.
Compared to the other forces that served to guard citadels, The Clawed Circle's management was minuscule with only three recorded members in the positions. These members were the founders for the group and, after the aforementioned event, were given the title of Thaumaturgists.
The small number of the management is due to the Thaumaturgists undergoing a ritual that is known as the Ascension Rite , though it is given the shorter title of Apotheosis from Meridian scholars.
Structure
Thaumaturgist:
Given to the founders after the Circle repelled the invasion by the leader of the old citadels, this title was never given to other members. Most likely due to the fact that it was a title bestowed by a political leader outside of the organization.Arcanist:
Not exclusive to the organization. The Arcanists are craftspeople who would utilize their knowledge and talents to craft items such as, but not limited to, weapon and armor. Some arcanists would be classified as affiliates to the organization.Acolyte:

The order promotes a culture of seeing the world. Even though the organization was set up to defend the Arcanborne from external threats, the organization did not believe in leaving members ignorant and fearful of the outside world and would encourage members that would join to travel and learn about the world.
Public Agenda
The purpose of the order is to offer a means of defense for the Arcanborne should the need arise. The order only took payment from the citadel and never from the common folk.
History
The Clawed Circle came into being when the founders was sharing their exploits about traveling the world. The end of their discussions the founders came to an epiphany that compared to their contemporaries, the Arcan don't have a great means of defense. The trio formulated a plan to think of ways to increase defenses at their citadels, but all their requests, and plans, were met with either confusion or deemed facetious. Being rebuffed countless time, the founders took the matters into their own hands founding the Clawed Circle and becoming an order meant to defend the Arcan citadels.
Originally, the trio were the only members of the group until other Arcanborne joined their cause as affiliates. When the numbers were rising, so did their ranks which meant the founders did not have to stay within their home citadels and they would eventually take their Circle and move between citadels offering any additional support.
Disbandment
All of the members of the Clawed Circle were declared dead at the end of the Magus War and the start of the Ward Era.
