Strength: Oni are famous for their enormous strength, able to carry objects made for their size with no problem, and can chuck heavy metallic items such as as a large machine with ease.   Horns: Oni horns are for show, as the horns connect directly to the skull, thus making them quite sensitive to the touch. In response to this, their headwear have to be specially made to allowing in their horns.   Size: Oni are also known for their intimidating heights, and backed up with their formidable strength, makes them a force to be reckoned with.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Oni are primarily confined to the mountainous areas of Yaojing region.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Darkvision: Due to their fiendish lineage, oni can see regularly in dim light and even in the absence of light, though only in black and white while in the dark.

Civilization and Culture

Average Technological Level

Isolated for most of their history, most Oni live off the land in an agrian society with smaller homesteads based primarily in bamboo wood. Oni have however embraced household and handheld electronics powered primarily by hand crank and solar generators.

Common Dress Code

It is customary for Oni to dresss in tiger-striped clothes, as tigers are indigenous to where these giants live. Tiger skins became a symbol for strength overcoming the tigers, prompting many oni to kill tigers. Those who couldn't kill or find tigers, made cloth dyed with a tiger pattern which became popular in places where tigers are protected.

History

Legends say that the Oni came from demons in days long past, where everyday people could become one by embracing the wickedness in their hearts. Others  often bevelived Oni to be the direct descendants of the demonic rakshasa. However their legacy also includes the Yaksha, which embody a lesser-known, softer side of oni. Yaksha were complicated forest nymphs in the past, occasionally hungry for the wayward traveller. While oni were seen mainly by hauflins and Amazons as hideous, fearful agents of chaos, they could bring blessings just as easily as they do devastation. Due to this perscuetion, they mostly keep to themselves in the large mountainous forests of the Yoajing region.    They were accordingly feared and abhorred, but oni were also worshipped in smaller isolated settlements of Wakoku were they originated.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Oni have had an adversarial relationship with neighbooring people groups. For hauflins, their great size and fiendish features intimidated them or prepared them to defend themselves out of fear. When Amazons migrated to the region, they not only were wary of their fiendish appearance but also saw them as competiton for resources and territory.
