Phan the Magnificent

Phan is a master wizard that played a large part in the events that lead to the defeat of the City of Vell. Like his cousin Rolen he came from one of the original families of The Vell. After Rolen's banishment from the Paladin's he joined his cousin in his quest to clear his name.
Playing an unwitting part in the fall of Vell, he had received from his master a scroll detailing where to find a great source of magic on an island on the South Seas. Heading for Fire Peak Island, he found himself captured by locals fearing his visit to the Fire Peak Mountain. Luckily his cousins Rolen, and Findlach had followed him.
Rolen's party was able to secure his release, and then they headed on to Fire Peak Mountain where they spent many weeks working through the complex within it. Finally reaching the Gate of Chaosium , and defeating the Beholder that held that gate. They found the three stones that could be used to neutralize the Three Gates.
Phan was instrumental in the following campaign that Rolen lead for Vell in the closing days of the The Great Orc Wars. His magic helped break the siege ofDresen. Following the betrayal he took a leading roll in reaching and neutralizing each of the gates of Law.
Today his whereabouts is not generally known, as he headed off on his own to experiment in seclusion.
