Celestia

Celestia is the country of the gods. One of the more metropolitan countries, people of all types live here, including what many would term the "monstrous" races. Celestian government is powered by two houses, one of mages, and one of religion, and the conflict between the two has led to a political stalemate over the last several years. Almost every known god has at least one temple here, and usually several, and those who follow the gods provide political power to the churches they worship. This means that traveling down the street means being bombarded with proselytizers and denouncers, those trying to gain power and sabotage rival gods. People here live primarily in wattle and daub houses, though stone or log houses are not uncommon in the wilds.

Structure

Celestia is a two-party partially-elected democracy. The two houses of government are The Circle, a gathering of powerful mages, and The Assembly, a gathering of representatives of the churches and temples present in Celestia.

Demography and Population

37% Human, 18% Elf, 15% Halfling, 10% Dwarf, 7% gnome, 5% Half-Elf, 3% Half-Orc, 5% Other   Celestia is a fairly well mixed country, with representatives from many races, including some of the more monstrous races. Many of the more powerful temples (Pyros, Yrrasil, and Imera, in particular) teaching their followers to be accepting of others, these godly lands are quite accepting of all who live here.

Military

Celestia lacks a powerful military, finding itself unable to muster the political will to pay for soldiers to stand around just in case. With the land of Celestia being poorly suited to most industries, and one of the houses of government being formed solely of tremendously powerful mages, Celestia is a poor target for invasion, regardless of the lack of a traditional standing army.

Technological Level

Celestia is one of the most magically advanced nations on Arcadia, owing to the rich mines of magical materials, and the government that draws powerful mages and artificers to it. Celestia, lacking a resource like Chargestone or the strangeness of Xelsoan that allows them to break physical laws, Celestian magic items are of more varied sorts, and powered by a larger variety of types of magic.

Religion

Practically any god powerful enough to grant spells has a temple in Celestia, and having a temple in Gods' Watch allows for political power within Celestia. Celestia lacks a state religion, instead honoring all the myriad gods large and small.

Agriculture & Industry

Celestia is known for being largely unsuited to farming, but somewhat rich in minerals both mundane and magical. As such, the largest industries are mining, followed by creation of magical and semi-magical items.

Education

Celestia lacks a nation wide educational program, instead leaving such decisions to the towns and villages of the country. For the most part, this means a fairly uneducated populous. The only exception here are the cities of Gods' Watch and Onyx Falls which both have significant educational resources, either religious or secular.
