Arburg's form of religion

Arburg exists in a state of agnosticism. They do not technically have a religion, with gods or deities. They do, however, have their myths and legends, which are seen as just fiction by some, or as real stories by others. For example, Lady Asmye is part of the many myths that carve Arburg's culture. Some people think that she once existed and ruled and is still watching over Arburg. Others just use her as a way to explain why some things are the way they area (like Pearl Beach), or they use her to give their children fairy tales at night.
One thing that the Arburgians believe in doing, and have done for centuries, is to honour noble people of the past. Here are some examples of how they do this:

Hanna Festival

This festival in the month of Hanna honors Hanna Lynn, one of the early queens of Arburg. It remembers the good things that she achieved in her lifetime, and provides a time of joy. To read more about Hanna and how she is celebrated, visit the following link: Hanna Lynn.

Months of the Year

Another way in which the Arburgians honour their past people is through the very way that they keep track of time. The twelve months of the year are: Helena, Alexia, Isabelle, Ariya, Esmae, Keira, Karina, Belle, Sylvie, Lucia, Amira, Hanna. As you can see, they are all names of women. They are, actually, the names, in order, of the first twelve women in the royal household. They are a combination of the queens and their daughters. Helena, Alexia, Esmae, Belle, Sylvie, Amira and Hanna were all queens. Isabelle, Ariya, Keira, Karina and Lucia were all daughters. To find out more about these legendary women, check out the following link to my timeline: Kings of Arburg.

Other

Other people are honoured in all sorts of ways. People name their children after past monarchs and famous figures, and there are lots of other places where their names pop up.

Values

Though Arbugians are not officially religious, they do follow an unspoken set of values and rules. Manners, honesty, loyalty, kindness and unity are all much-promoted values. One example of how this is shown is in the choosing of The King's new bride. This deisplays how the government and the people of Arburg are one union. The governement of Arburg frowns upon people or groups of people that go against this. Pride in Arburg's accommplishments and history is also greatly promoted.
