One of the passengers on Crown's Call was found dead. The captain decided that everyone should stay in their rooms and they'd search them for evidence. Unfortunately for Yeissal she had a poisonous snake and a stiletto dagger, matching both the wound and the poison found to have killed the passenger. Yeissal was taken to be locked in a storage closet until the time they reached the next skyport and she could be handed over to proper authorities.

Nyx wanted to clear his friend of suspicion so he, in the form of a spider, snuck into the room of another passenger he suspected of being the actual killer. In his boot Nyx found a stiletto dagger. Nyx told the captain who went to apprehend the man along with another crewmember. The assassin was not willing to go quietly, however, and he killed the captain and other members of the crew.    When Nyx, along with Azzabin and Matty, tried to stop the assassin from escaping and killing more people, the assassin shot Nyx through the heart with a crossbow bolt and killed him. Azzabin and Matty managed to end the assassin's life after that and they got one of the crew to go get Yeissal out of the storage closet.    Yeissal was torn up about the death of Nyx and decided to use the scroll of Raise Dead that she had bought should she need it for Heska. It was a long and tense wait as the casting took an hour, but finally they were relieved as Nyx began to breathe again and the spell had worked.
