Zull Throat Snapper

If someone were to make a definition of the typical Factory Boss of Arbor Zull would be the picture you would use. The 8 foot tall grotesquely overweight man is as ugly on the inside as he is on the outside. He is a slovenly, cruel, tyrant of a man with no regard for the lives of anyone who works underneath him. Zull is the owner of the majority of textile factories in Arbor after the disappearance of the PLACEHOLDER FAMILY placed him into a position where he could acquire their holdings for cheap. He does have some redeeming qualities, everyone knows where they stand with Zull he hates you all and sees everyone as only useful as long as they can do something for him. In that way at least Zull is consistent and saves any deviousness for others in his employ.
"Zull may have built the factory with his own two hands, but he's willing to sacrifice the hands of children to keep it running. He's a ruthless businessman who values profit over safety, and the screams of injured children are just background noise to him." -Annie Fisher, former employee of the textile mill

Appearance

Zull is an 8 foot tall severely overweight hobgoblin who through the weight he now carries can barely move. He is confined to a spider like mobility device created by The Gilded that moves him around the factories that he owns and oversees. Still even with the difficulties in mobility he still dresses as sharp as ever, designer suits, hats and jewelry are the only things he wears and he has impeccable taste and table manners. When eating he is a very clean eater making sure never to spill a single drop of food on to his person. This is where some confusion does lie though he does not consume nearly enough to justify his great bulk and his early years he was quite active in fact he built by hand some of the original factories that still stand. How is it his health could deteriorate so quickly then is a mystery.

Personality

If one were to sum up Zull in a word they would probably use the word cruel. Zull's only goal is to see his empire grow to find ways to eek out more profits of an already grotesque empire built on the backs of his laborers. Along with the driving force of ever wanting more, is a man of dogged determination and drive, he views every moment as a challenge to overcome a hill to be climbed, stones to be broken and people to get out of his way. What he is pursuing is anyone guess but Zull is a man on a mission to succeed. Interestingly though Zull is not a man who feeds his excess, simple meals and a home while large for the standards of his workers is not the extravagant villas of some of his peers, he is exceptionally careful with his money in fact storing it away and seemingly never spending or splurging it on frivolous things.

Background

Zull is one of the oldest of the factory bosses and has even met Nathan Penn, though it was when he was a young boy. Rumors have persisted that he has had multiple experimental and magical procedures done to him to extend his life and no one is sure how old Zull actually is at this point.   Regardless Zull started one of the first textile mills in the city realizing that the thread being produced by Hand Weavers and Spinners Guild was simply not being turned into cloth and other usable items quickly enough by the various small shops around the city. In fact Zull built many of the early machine looms that would produce cloth in far greater quantities than before though possible.   Zull worked and slaved slowly building up a sizeable workforce until he was the number 2 in the city producing textiles, and then through a stroke of luck the number 1s dissapeared. Of course everyone suspected Zull and an investigation by the The Green Cloaks was launched into their disappearance but nothing was ever found and Zull seized on the opportunity to snatch up the remaining factories.   Slowly over the decades Zull's health has deteriorated to the point where he is now confined to his custom chair but he is still as shard and hard working as ever.

Factory Operation and Output

The Factories that Zull owns produce the majority of cloth and fabrics in Arbor. It's in his factories that the various blends are created to allow for cheaper clothing from the very richest in Arbor being nearly 100% Great Tree Fiber to the very lowest percentage being about 10% with the remaining percentages being things like wool, hemp and other less costly fibers.   The cloth that is created by Zull's factories is then delivered to high end shops where clothiers will hand stitch the cloth together to create the finest garments in the city or passed on to other factories under Zull's purview that produce far lower quality mass produced items such as simple dresses, suits and other workmen clothing. In addition for the very poorest in society very cheap cloth is sold in bulk to "General Stores" in the row houses for use in making their clothing.

Relationships

For all his wealth Zull is a lonely man never finding or in fact even seeking out a partner of any kind perhaps he just doesn't want to share.

Allegiance

As there is a strong reliance on the Hand Weavers and Spinners Guild Zull keeps them happy no matter the cost.

Abilities

In his youth Zull was quite the bear of a man though these days his mobility is limited he is still incredibly strong individual.

Equipment

The chair that moves him around is quite the beast while at the same time being incredibly gentle and delicate to the flooring underneath.
