Great Tree Fiber
Processing the leaves of the great tree into fiber is a long and complex process but one well worth all the effort given the strength and durability that results from the fabrics that can be made. Almost every person in the city wears clothes made of some percentage of the fiber though what percentage varies depending on the amount one is willing to pay. As a result of the fibers durability though manufacturers and tailors have had to get very creative with their blends of fabrics in order to create some level of obsolescence otherwise garments sold 2-300 years ago would still be being worn today.

Appearance
The Fibers of the great tree take on a reddish hue as their default colour once they have been processed from the stalks of the Great Tree Leaves. The long fiberish strands seem to almost shimmer and glow in low light with some reporting that the fibers feel like blood running through your fingers. Many have been unsettled by this thought and have no explanation for the unsettling feeling that comes along with processing the fiber.History
Credit to the Fibers discovery goes to the Hand Weavers and Spinners Guild who learned how to break down the leaves of the Great Tree but whose specific methods has remained a secret to this day. In the early parts of the history of Arbor all clothes were made with 100% fiber as nothing else was available and no other blends seemed to be able to be incorporated into the dense fiber created. This had an unusual effect on the rumors about the populace some calling the inhabitants the immortal warriors due to the fact a simple shirt could repel arrows and even glancing siege weaponry could be fended away. Centuries later though and much of the pure fabrics produced are made solely for the purview of those willing to pay exorbitant rates and as the Guild is the only one who knows how to create the Fiber to such high quality they maintain the monopoly.Creation

As far as anyone knows the only known component of the Fiber is the Leaves of the Great Tree.Capabilities
Highly durable and nearly indestructible under normal conditions, a rope made with the fibers can hold up an entire cargo ship without so much as fraying and clothing made from pure fibers can repel small arms fire. The Fiber itself is resistant to tearing and in some cases exhibits a self healing property.
