The Fires of creation - Heart of the forge

A Flashfire Challenge

Ahlan wa salan, my friends! First of all, thanks to all of you who did support or took part in this challenge. I did not expect the "Fires of Creation" to be this popular. An incredible 37 entries were submitted in just three days and then every single one of these entries was a sparkling, glowing gem of storytelling.
Judging this was incredibly difficult and even after filtering it trough three rounds of judging the scores were incredibly close together.
However, in the end some embers glowed hotter than others. So, lets look at our six canidates on the shortlist. All of them get the right proudly to wear a special badge - but only one of them can be the winner. Are you ready to hear tales from the forge?

I give to you: the glowing embers

Author's comment: A light in the dark

Beacons of hope in the dark, temples and home to the gods - all wrapped in a song of more than 6000 verses? Its an incredibly beautiful crafted article by Demongrey and my mind pictured the sailors of the million islands chant the songs while riding the stormy oceans, their voices echoing into the dark night.

Author's comment: Hot Action

Now, this is truly worth a read. Want to join in on a vampire hunt and see our protagonist prove himself? This is the place to be. Gripping action and a great setup for further stories will see you looking for more
The prose was fantastic and I certainly want to read more about Cinead's legacy by Terion Chemare.

Author's comment: Heartwarming

A heartwarming origin story for a festival that has been around for over 2000 years. Rescued by a godess, her people still pay their respects today and end their ceremony with a banquet befitting a goddess.
Add to that the gorgeous art drawn bei Callyxtus and you have a feast for your eyes befit for a god.

Author's comment: Forged in fire

A fascinating tale about the forging of a legendary sword, beautifully framed into wonderfully crafted prose and illustrated with gorgeous handdrawn art by Blue Fairy 74.
This story and the legend behind it will be remembered by all of its readers for a long, long time.

Author's comment: The fire within

An introduction into fire magic unlike any other, brought to you by Leijona. Commented by inhabitants of Mirintha, it features striking borders on wonderfully designed flipcards carried by great writing and as a final touch there are even some spell effects being added on top. If you want to learn about fire magic, look no further.

Author's comment: Barely contained blaze

Within Risenhall, there lies a secret ...
This article was an unexpected tale about a power plant of all things. Brought to you by Rumengol it brings you gorgeous lore, incredibly rich details and great writing that wrap around an idea I've never seen before, This is a shining light in the wasteland of Risenhall's apocalypse.

And the winner is....

This was an incredible hard call to make and every single shortlist article could have make the race, but the picture this article invoked in my mind would simply not go away.

I'll leave this wonderful article here with you to light the way into worldember

See you in the next flashfire challenge when the embers light anew!

Oh gosh, I'm blushing. And very happy to hear that the action in the story was gripping! Cinaed is one of my favorite characters in my vampire verse and ends up deeply involved in what will eventually be the main story, so there definitely will be more of him!

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts,
with stoutest wrists and loudest boasts,
he thrusts his fists against the posts
and still insists he sees the ghosts.

This comes as a surprise ... Would not have imagined the you choose some magic spells for the short list. Although I'm kinda proud of my flip cards. So, will the next flash fire challenge be about fire again or will it have a new topic? And as I know that you won't tell anyway, see it as a retorical question.
