The oldest sibling in the Grant Family and the only one to be conscripted. He spent his decade of service in the cold of Snowthain. When he finally got home and met his younger siblings he felt empty. His tenure in the south had left him haunted and he soon left. He decided to go to Steelgate, as it is often said that there a life can be remade.
Arriving in Steelgate, he found an inhospitable place much unlike Etherwatch, the air polluted, the people withdrawn. He fell through the gaps of society. It'd be years before anything changed. He became an enforcer for the Broken Gauntlet Syndicate. Then he met Groll once more. He'd found a job at the Steelgate Mage Tower with a reasonable wage. And so Damian was saved from the pit.
Able to afford equipment and the entry fee, Damian joined the Steelgate Gladiator Union as a fighter. From there his carrier took off.
