The Laws of Aradeia
Much is very similar to Earth, to be fair, but magic is a substantial part of Aradeian society, especially the creation of magical orbs, that can save the memories and sights of their user. Magical and mechanically crafted devices are very sturdy and long-lasting making them an essential part of everyday life.
(Ergo, they are much more durable than our technology!)
Celestials are what we would call Gods, but they are far away from the mortal realm. Immortals have a stage close to half-deities and are seen as forces of nature.
Cosmology
It all started with a massive, glowing, swirling ball of blue magic. The atmosphere crushed it and caused it to create something, slowly forming the planet that Aradeia was based on.
There are rumours that Aradeia was once connected to the other continents surrounding it and there are more rumours claiming that someday, Aradeia may fall apart, too.
Principal Geography & Features
Apart from being quite close to a European idea of the seasons, the rain and sunny days are a bit more drastic and more predictable than on Earth. Also, Elves and Dwarves are part of nature - Elves building the life force between plants and Dwarves being the life force between mountains and stones.
Every season has four months that are 28 days long. One day has 24 hours.
Rivers and lakes are quite common, especially in the West and the Middle of the continent. The dwarven kingdom struggles with riverbeds, but they are known to have deep and thorough wells for fresh water. The Elves live in the rather icy areas around the Northern Sea. Their settlement in the West is used as a trading and harvest point for fresh fruit and exotic meats.
As a side note: You get basically nothing done on a rainy day. Just spend your day at home.
Initial Active Setting
Aradeia is based on a continent with several countries and an area inbetween that has no fixed boarders.
The players start right in the middle, in the Omni area, right next to the Wilderness and will explore the continent based on their personal preferences.
There will be different geographical areas, like mountain ranges, forests, oceans, rivers, cities, villages and whatever you can think of, truly. Only exception are djungles and tropical areas, since this is a part of the faraway continent in the West that only people in Camorand and Sithaline City have gone to.
