The Glorious Tinkerer Organization in Aradeia | World Anvil

The Glorious Tinkerer

The glorious Tinkerer is a guild of artificers and alchemists in the south west of Dânmaer Central, the capitol of the dwarven Kingdom. It's the largest meeting point for scientifically inclined dwarves and scholars from all over Aradeia. Many of the foreigners who have studied with the Tinkerers have brought home incredible machinery and gadgets that did not only improve their lives but helped with their own inventions as well. The tale keeper's orbs that are used as memory devices and soul portals for the Omni as well as Sithaline City's intricate rail skater service is based on their sketches and technical findings.
If someone wants to join the guild, they are obliged to present one self-made invention or hand in a mass production blue print for a household gadget. Scholars, interns and visitors are welcome to explore their workshops in Dânmaer - the more well-known you are among the general public, the more you get to see.

Culture

Since most inhabitants of Aradeia use the Tinkerer's inventions, the organisation is well-known and popular among the citizens. Members of the guild are well-revered and often invited to social gatherings to strengthen connections in and to the the guild and setup new projects. Konkôr Barbendt, leader of the organisation, is rumoured to be one of Dwarven King Lorberd's closest friends. Lorberd has been an apprentice of the guild himself before he had taken over the throne from his father Stormgard.
It is of major importance to them to practice an open mind concerning everyone and everything that wants to learn their craft. They are extremely proud of their accomplishments and offer bread and board to those who are willing to learn and treat them and their work with respect. Often, travellers to the dwarven kingdom are advised to visit them at first; just one thing should be kept in mind: They are not particularly fond of magical casters, since magic users have been their hugest critics in the past. Racist, speciist or sexist beings who out themselves while working with or for the guild are excluded from the community and removed from the premises. In order to regain access to their grounds, the excluded member has to redeem themselves by working several hours of social work.

Let your mind create the world.

Konkôr Barbendt

The Head Speaker of "The glorious Tinkerer" is noticeably the most open-minded dwarf in the entirety of Dânmaer. Known to have one family in Lemdaux Village (an Omni village) and one in Dânmaer itself, he enjoys the company of all ages and ethnicities. He is even known to be close friends with the Dûngar; the darkelf tribe in Sithaline city. He is well acquainted with Iomer, the Jester King, and counted Pa'axi, goddess of the Omni, to his friends when she was still alive.
Whenever there were international conflicts on the rise, Konkôr was asked to advise. Only one, the Bloodthirst King, was actively avoiding him. He caused him to flee his home country and lived with the Omni for quite some time. After the Bloodthirst's death, he returned to his home, surviving the war and the Wilderness Uprising.
