Weeping Monastery
"Do not fear to lose what needs to be lost."
Set in the high mountains above the great capital city of Cathair Neimh, in the Dolan Theocracy, the Weeping Monastery is the holiest of sites for the Order of Tears and serves as the residence of the Order's Ard Manach, the High Monk.History
The Weeping Monastery was originally built as a dam for the mountain river that supplies Cathair Neimh with water. In order to keep the dam in good repair, the lord of the province and the Ard Righ, High King of the Dolan Theocracy, agreed to co-fund the creation of a citadel near the dam. Due to its isolated nature and lack of amenities, the Theocracy quickly found itself scrambling to keep the inhabitants from deserting. At the same time, a young woman from one of the Theocracy's monastic orders approached the Ard Righ and requested permission to live in the citadel. The king agreed.
The young woman resided in the citadel for many years, attracting many devotees who wished to study and learn from her wisdom. Such a great number of people came to live there that the citadel underwent significant renovation. From then on, it became known as the Weeping Monastery, for the raging river behind the old dam still flowed around the base of the structure.
Now, the Weeping Monastery is home to the Order of Tears and is one of the major centers of worship of Mea'hana.
