Personal history
Adlyde never knew her parents. She was brought up in an orphanage for her childhood until the age of 11, when she was adopted by an elderly couple from Enda. The rest of her childhood was spent wandering the grounds of her adoptive parents' cottage, where she discovered a love for botany. Adlyde turned her knowledge of plants towards the brewing of medicines after she saw a traveling healer in the marketplace. After studying intensely on her own, Adlyde received a prestigious scholarship for study at the Alchemical Institute of Torni, in the Hellavosen Marches. She studied there under the tutelage of the kingdom's finest masters and specialized in herblore and medicinal salves and medicines.
She returned to Enda after three years in Torni, where she joined the Alchemy Guild. Working her way through the ranks, she attained the rank of master after eight years. Following the retirement of the previous Fifth Coin, she assumed the rank of Master of the Guild. She has since been the Fifth Coin for two years. Adlyde moved from Enda to Hasaeti.

Hardworking, single-minded, and intelligent are the three most common adjectives used to describe Adlyde by her coworkers. She is incredibly brilliant and a world-renowned expert on the herbs of Hellavosen and Trilmo, and her advice is sought by rulers and commoners alike. Brought up in a lower-class background, Adlyde makes a conscious effort to split her time equally between the common folk and the higher classes. Often, she waives guild fees for low income families that seek her aid.
Vices & Personality flaws
Adlyde has the habit of talking about botany and alchemy the way one might talk about the weather; quickly and with no regard for the interest of her audience. Some of her colleagues in the Alchemy Guild find this endearing, as she talks for hours about the applications of witch hazel or usefulness of the fireflower. Others avoid her company for this very reason. Though none in the Guild doubt her expertise or ability, not many actively seek out her company.
