Social Structure
Fringers are true outcasts from their heritage and true assimilation by the Dinoterran society. They often live on the outskirts of civilization, but most prefer the Wild Outlands, where they can build their own society and live however they want. They are true anarchists and are only beholden to themselves. Although, they often band together for protection from the large carnivores.

History
Some Fringers lived on Dinoterra before the Chaos Wars and were subsequently "stuck" there when the curse blocked off all access to the Island. Fringers are mostly made up of humans that have washed up on the shores of Dinoterra. They are one of the few enclaves of "pure" human stock left from before the Chaos Wars. This is a small population that was never addicted to GSD and made it to the neutral nation of Dinoterra. They were never experimented on by the Atlanteans.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Fringer James Beckworth described the festivities as a scene of "mirth, songs, dancing, shouting, trading, running, jumping, singing, racing, target-shooting, yarns, frolic, with all sorts of extravagances that anyone could invent." An easterner gave his view: "mountain companies are all assembled on this season and make as crazy a set of men I ever saw." There were horse races, running races, target shooting, and gambling. Whiskey drinking accompanied all of them.
They are a group of explorers, fur trappers, land surveyors, trailblazers, and scouts, both adventurous and practical Some even are famous for being herbalists, artists, botanists, and authors.
These rough-and-tumble men are epic brawlers, hunters, drinkers, and unrivaled outdoorsmen. Physical strength and endurance are critical to survival, as is bravery and the ability to quickly and clearly analyze a situation and instantly act.
During high summer (midsummer), many groups meet for a Festival Rendevous. What began as a practical gathering to exchange pelts for supplies and reorganize trapping groups evolved into a month-long carnival in the middle of the wilderness. The gathering was not confined to trappers and attracted women and children, natives, Dinoterrans, and travelers.
