Finder Toby

Written by Pookas Kreations

Finder Tobias Hundin (a.k.a. Toby)

Toby is a hound, a cousin to a Cooshi, an elven dog. They are smaller than a cooshee, something like a cross between a beagle and a bloodhound. They are commonly Finders. He is also a Shifter, able to shift into what appears to be a young, scruffy-looking boy (8-12 years old).

He can sense lost things, and those they belong to. He often waits for people around the village green to help find what they need. He gets them to play/follow him to where the item waits. Mostly this works, but some people can be stubborn. These he sometimes leaves on doorsteps or takes to the guard with a note.

Toby used to give things he found to their owners as a boy, but they often treated him like he stole them. Everything's better in dog form. Later as he grew older, he learned that if he was hired out to find things that he could earn money, find items, and not be blamed for stealing them. He called others to him and created the Finders Guild.

Personal history

Doby doesn't know when he was born. He just remembers opening his eyes one day in a glade surrounded by other dogs like him. There was a woman there, she was tall, slim, with long, red braided hair. She was greeting them all, calling them by name. Telling them their abilities and what they needed to do with them. She said her name was Freya Artymis and would see them all again when their tasks were finished.
The times between findings were always a blur unless something important happened.
