Dieter's Marvelous Schematics

Written by Pookas Kreations

Some of Dieter's designs have been stolen and enshrined over the years to become "religious" relics. A small group has decided that some of his inventions are such a boon to mankind that they need to be venerated.

He started hiding over the years because these "cultists" (as he calls them) were stealing them and putting them on display. They believe that his new magitech machines are a gift from the God of Inspiration. He created his vault to protect his other schematics from them. Brightstone Industries still has copies of most of them, but many of his early works that were never built is waiting on a descendant to find them.

The present-day Cult of the Marvelous Engineer (of course, they call it the Church of the Marvelous Engineer) are constantly in search of originals of his early works. Many of these early ideas never came to fruition, but their concepts were the core ideas for the ones that were built.

Purpose

The original purpose of this document was as a diagram for an invention that Dieter was working on. The cult has enshrined many of these for their own purposes.

Document Structure

References

Many of his designs referenced others that had similar concepts.

Publication Status

Most of them were copyrighted by Brightstone industries after Dieter's death. The originals were Dieter's private property, a few he did make public though.

Historical Details

Public Reaction

At first, his early designs were scoffed at, but later they were heartily accepted.

Legacy

Dieter was originally mad at his designs being stolen. Now he is actually embarrassed about the ones that were never built and worshiping them as inspired works.
A skilled artisan started making pilgrim "badges" that have stylized basreliefs of some of his designs that he thinks were the most important. The pilgrims that decide to visit these shrines usually buy a badge the first time they visit.
