The Luciene Family

The Luciene family is a noble family with a long history in the Holy Kingdom. They have been minor members of the Holy Church and the ruling nobility of the Luciene region for generations, and they are known for their strong devotion to the Radiant King.   The current head of the Luciene family is Lord Gerard Luciene, a mid-ranking official in the Holy Church and a member of the Holy Kingdom's 26-person ruling council. He is a strict and devout follower of the Radiant King, and he has a reputation for being a harsh and unforgiving leader.   Lord Luciene's oldest child is Astrid Luciene, a young woman who has disappointed her family's legacy by being unable to develop the ability to use holy magic. Her father, Lord Luciene, has neglected her in favor of his two younger sons, Arthur and Henry, who both show great aptitude for holy magic. Because of the neglect and judgment she has faced from her family, Astrid has a rebellious streak and secretly created the Cult of the Dark Goddess. She is known as the Apostle of the Dark Goddess and uses her position within the Luciene family to further the goals of the Cult.   Other members of the Luciene family include Lord Luciene's wife, Lady Adelaide Luciene, who is an exhausted, yet gentle woman. While Lady Luciene cares for dearly for her children, she too is guilty of paying more attention to her sons than to her daughter Astrid.   There are also various other distant relatives and servants of the Luciene family, who are quite loyal to Lord Luciene.

Assets

The Luciene family estate is a sprawling property located in the Luciene region of the Holy Kingdom. Situated just outside the town of Havenscrest, the estate is surrounded by lush forests and rolling hills. It is located a brief distance away from the majestic Holy Church of the Luciene region, which provides all churchgoers with a display of the wealth and prestige of their lord. The main residence is a large U-shaped four-story building, with several underground levels and a beautifully manicured courtyard in the center. The estate also includes a private forest, pond, ground-dragon stables, and a peaceful gravel path around the perimeter.   The southern wing of the mansion is the residence wing, where the Luciene family lives and spends the majority of their time. The master bedroom, belonging to Lord Gerard and Lady Adelaide Luciene, is located on the top floor and features a private patio and outdoor bath. Astrid Luciene's room is located on the third floor, complete with a full private washroom, walk-in closet, and study-room. Arthur Luciene's room is on the second floor, and is similarly equipped, also containing a private workout and play area. Henry Luciene's room is on the ground floor, as he dislikes stairs, and comes with a large bed to accommodate his love of sleep.   The first basement floor is home to the servants' quarters, where the family's butlers, maids, and other staff members live. The quarters are comfortable and spacious, and each person has their own private room. There is also a common area where the staff can relax and socialize.   The second basement floor contains a laundry room where the staff and the family's clothes are washed and ironed, as well as a handymen's workshop where repairs and maintenance can be done. This floor also has a small storage area for the staff's supplies and equipment.   The third basement floor contains a pristine wine cellar where the family's collection of fine wines is kept. The floor is mainly used for storage, with large, well-organized rooms where the family keeps their extra furniture, decorations, and other items that are not in use. There is also a small, secure vault where the family keeps their valuable possessions, such as jewelry and heirlooms.   The fourth basement floor of the Luciene estate is a hidden shelter that is only used in emergency situations. It is accessed via a hidden passage and is the size of a large room, containing emergency rations, a bathroom, and beds. The shelter is a well-kept secret and only a few people within the estate are aware of its existence.   The central wing of the home is reserved for distinguished guests, and offers stunning views of the estate and the nearby Holy Church. The top floor of the central wing features a courtyard and recreation area for guests to enjoy. The north-eastern corner of the estate is home to a library that was dearly loved by Astrid's grandmother. It contains many volumes collected over the generations, and is now maintained by Astrid herself.   The northern wing of the Luciene estate is home to the ballroom, a grand space that is used for formal events and gatherings. The ballroom is located on the ground floor, with a high ceiling and large windows that let in plenty of natural light. With an inside balcony on the second level, the ballroom takes up the space of three whole floors. The space is decorated in a classic, elegant style, with marble floors, an intricate chandelier, and plush furniture. The walls are adorned with paintings and tapestries curated by Lady Adelaide herself, and there is a stage for musicians and performers.   Next to the ballroom is the kitchen: a large, bustling space where meals are prepared during large events. The kitchen is staffed by a team of skilled chefs and assistants, and while guests are within the mansion there is always kitchen staff on duty. There is also a pantry where food and supplies for events are stored, and a small dining area where the staff can eat their meals and take breaks.   Outside the northern wing, there is a large patio and driveway where guests can arrive and depart in their carriages. The patio is well-maintained, with beautiful plants and flowers, and there is a gazebo where guests can sit and enjoy the fresh air. The driveway is made of cobblestones and leads to the main entrance of the estate.   The property also includes a sword training area, archery range, and a magical practice area for safe spellcasting. The front gate of the estate is guarded by a guardhouse, and there is a small guard barracks on the grounds as well. The estate is well-maintained and beloved by the citizens of Havenscrest, and cherished by its residents and staff.
