The Holy Kingdom

The Holy Kingdom is a vast and powerful nation ruled by a pope-king who is said to be chosen by the Radiant King, the deity worshiped by the Church of the Holy Light. The Holy Church holds immense political and social influence, making it the dominant religion in the kingdom.   Renowned for its skilled paladins and strong military, the Holy Kingdom has a history of conflict with neighboring countries. Its paladins are trained in both combat and holy magic, and are often called upon to defend the kingdom from external threats. The kingdom often engages in crusades against other religious countries, whom they believe worship false gods.   Despite its power and wealth, the Holy Kingdom is not without its flaws. Corruption and bribery, while uncommon, do exist within the government and Holy Church. There are those who seek to use their power for personal gain, and the common people are often mistreated by the ruling nobility and Church officials. The government is particularly harsh on any hints of heresy, and the devout followers of the Holy Light are not above using violence to ensure religious purity.   The Holy Kingdom is made up of 25 regions, each ruled by a lord who answers to the pope-king. Some of these regions include the Ekhart region, the Bishmoth region, the Lightloved region, the Fauven region, the Radiant region, and the Luciene region. Each region has its own unique geography, economy, and culture, and together they form the diverse and powerful nation of the Holy Kingdom.   The western border of the Holy Kingdom is marked by a long mountain range, known as the Dewarian Mountains. This range is home to Mount Fortimox, one of the largest mountains in the kingdom, and is a popular destination for mountain climbers and adventurers. The mountains provide a natural barrier and protection for the kingdom from external threats. The Cerillion Empitre lies on the other side of the Dwarian Mountains.   The Holy Kingdom's port city, The Radiant City, is located on the kingdom's southeastern border. The Holy Capitol lies at the heart of the kingdom, and the western border is lined with a mountain range. The northeastern corner of the kingdom is defined by a tall mountain range, while the southwestern edge is bordered by a long river leading to the ocean. The only coastal area of the Holy Kingdom is in the southeast, and all other borders are landlocked.
