Adelaide Luciene

Lady Adelaide Luciene- Veilmont

Lady Adelaide Luciene (née Veilmont) is the wife of current head of the noble Luciene family, Lord Gerard Luciene. As a member of the nobility of the Holy Kingdom, she is a devout woman of faith and a follower of the Radiant King.   Born into the wealthy Veilmont merchant family from the Radiant City, Lady Luciene was the middle daughter of the family's head. She received a thorough education and was taught the skills and traditions of her family and her faith. As she came of age, she was swiftly married off to Lord Gerard Luciene, the oldest son of the previous head of the Luciene family. While the marriage was arranged, Lady Luciene and Lord Luciene found that they had a great deal in common and developed a genuine fondness for each other.   Despite her happiness in her marriage, Lady Luciene struggled to fulfill the expectations of her husband and her family. As a member of the nobility, she is expected to maintain her family's status and wealth, and to bear children who could become powerful users of holy magic. However, Lady Luciene's first child, Astrid, was unable to develop the ability to use holy magic, which was a great disappointment to her and her husband. Because of this, Lady Luciene inadvertently neglected Astrid in favor of her two younger sons, Arthur and Henry, who both displayed a great aptitude for holy magic.   Despite her flaws and exhaustion, Lady Luciene is a gentle woman with a strong faith and an aversion to violence. She remains devoted to her husband and her children, and continues to support (most of) them in their endeavors. She also maintains a close relationship with her family back home in the Radiant City on the opposite side of the country, particularly her mother, whom she writes to regularly.
