Universe

Introduction
From the Primordial Epoch - with the arrival of mortality and divinity - the universe gradually took shape.
Concepts of good, evil, order, and chaos began to align, and the outline of the known cosmos emerged.
Asgorath the World Shaper divided reality, into the inner, and outer planes (called upper, axial, and lower).
Known as the Great Wheel, this cosmology categorises most - though not all - of the known universe.
Transitive planes and pathways allow for planar traversal, alongside portals and teleportation magics.

Glossary

  • Alignment: A creature, deity, or plane's inclination towards good, evil, law, chaos, or neutrality.
  • Axial Planes: Neutrally aligned outer planes, without any leanings towards good or evil.
  • Cosmology: A system used to categorise the universe's structure, at a given point in time.
  • Elemental Chaos: Four inter-connected inner planes, of air, earth, fire, and water.
  • Energy Planes: Barren places, filled solely with the fundamental forces of life and death.
  • Esoteric Planes: Planes which do not fit into the currently understood universal cosmology.
  • Great Wheel: The current cosmology, which divides the planes by properties and alignment.
  • Immaterial Planes: Spaces without corporeality, typically overlapping another plane or several.
  • Inner Planes: Planes within the Veil of Severance, which exiles almost all divine presence.
  • Material Plane: Known as Apocrypha - a world bound not primarily by concepts, but physicality.
  • Other Planes: Border places known as planar pathways, and planes outside known cosmology.
  • Outer Planes: Planes outside the Veil of Severance, allowing for deities to move and act freely.
  • Parallel Planes: Ancient mirrors of the material plane, typically with heightened characteristics.
  • Para-Elemental Planes: Boundaries of the Elemental Chaos - Smoke, Magma, Ooze, and Ice.
  • Planar Pathway: Places allowing for physical travel between conceptually similar outer planes.
  • Plane: Known as realms, these are particular sections of the universe with distinct properties.
  • Transitive Planes: Planes which connect to each of the Inner and Outer planes, respectively.
  • Universe: The totality of existence as it understood - namely physical and incorporeal spaces.
  • Veil of Severance: A conceptual barrier which blocks the movement or manifestation of gods.
