Vireya Dawnshield
Vireya Dawnshield was a Gold Dragonborn Oath of Ancients Paladin, native to Aureum Vale. Vireya is High Sunkeeper of the monastery of Aureum Vale, a position of greta authority within the community. She is known to be a gifted tactician, once holding an entire invading army of Kobolds at bay with nothing but presence and gaze. When they did not turn back, she incinerated them in a single breath and wept afterward in solitude for a week.
This devastation changed Vireya fundamentally, and she dedicated herself to creating a non-lethal manner to deter any would-be threats to the commune. After months of planning and strategising, she helped to develop a system that would later become known as 'The Dawnshield' after her efforts; an intricate architectural quirk that would allow sunlight to be collected and redirected into the valley, or into the skies around the Vale. This would allow the commune to blind or disorientate any invaders from the sky or by foot with intense light.
