Nine Lost Symphonies of Horton Fogmeadow

The Nine Lost Symphonies of Horton Fogmeadow are a collection of dark songs, penning using the emotions of a noted Halfling Bard Horton Fogmeadow. It contains nine songs, each of which increase in power when played in unison, and it is a wide-seeked treasure by Bards hoping to make their fortune. However, it is said that gathering all of the songs in one place is a surefire way to come under the scrutiny of Cthothlast himself, a fate no one wishes for themselves.   The nine symphonies are as follows:
  1. The Scarecrow's Ballad, which details the creation of a Scarecrow and the subsequent destruction of its creator and its hands.
  2. The Hymn of the Grotesque, which details profane rituals and self mutilation.
  3. The Coward's Chant, which details a king's decision to allow his family to be executed to save his own life.
  4. Mercy Dirge, which details a duke who shows mercy to a captured soldier, only for that soldier to skin the duke alive.
  5. Shanta Shanty, which details the crimes that go on as a result of a long peace-time.
  6. Round of Rage, which details the death of the first Barbarian.
  7. Laughter's Sweet Melody, which details a list of war crimes in order from stoic to hilarious, according to the now disintergrating mind of its author.
  8. The Anthem of Lost Lustre, which details the barely-remembered feeling of belonging suffered from the author's slipping mind.
  9. Tune of Hearts, which details the exact moment a man's heart breaks in infinitessimal detail.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The tome is made up of nine short songs, overflowing with Eldritch magic, that must be collated by the holder in the book upon hearing them. With each Symphony added, each collected Symphony becomes stronger. Each Symphony can be performed with an action, which expends a number of charges of the Tome, indicated by each Symphony.
