Ithrydal
Ithrydal is a large city found in the Suvak region of Murkys. Ithrydal was a city of innovation, built on sprawling marshlands crisscrossed by the Arteria river and wooden walkways. It was renowned for its alchemical advancements, particularly its ability to harness the natural resources of the swamps, rare herbs, minerals, and toxins, to create medicines, elixirs, and weapons from the infamous tower of Spinagris. The people of Ithrydal were seen as visionaries, albeit ones with little regard for morality, as their experiments often veered into dangerous and forbidden territory.
The curse unleashed by the undead consumed Ithrydal’s alchemical wonders, turning the city into a waterlogged necropolis. The canals overflowed with fetid black ichor, and the marshes surrounding the city became a churning mire of rotting flesh and bone. The city itself, once bustling with life, now sinks deeper into the swamp, its crumbling towers and walkways swallowed by the growing mass of organic matter that pulses beneath the surface. The alchemists of Ithrydal, desperate to survive, embraced the curse. They used their knowledge to transform themselves into twisted amalgamations of flesh and machinery, becoming the Meatwrights, undead beings who tinker with the living and dead alike, stitching new creations from the cursed land around them. Ithrydal is now a hub of grotesque experimentation, where the lines between life and death are blurred beyond recognition. The products of these experiments are often left in the Ithrydal Crypts.
