Falshune
The second largest city of Kthombru, located on False Hope Island. It is a predominantly Human city, but is known to be a multicultural melting pot. It was the site of the formation of The Last Hope, a group of politicians and warriors to attempted to defend the city during The Godrot Incident.
Districts
During The Godrot Incident, an influx of refugees forced the government of Falshune to split the city into districts, in an effort to prevent total chaos from consuming the already crumbling city.
As the original inhabitants of False Hope, the Humans have taken over the larger area, known as Falshune Plaza,. The area was still in good repair, lacking any of the wear and tear present in other sectors, but was still notably overcrowded. The Plaza is still a district were many of the rich humans congregate, such as the Wheathelm and Bufheim families.
To the north was the The Waterside District, home to the Elves. This prime location allows the Elves to monopolize the food production within False Hope, having access to the only source of fish. This leads to bitter rivalries with some of the other races in False Hope, such as the Dwarves, although they seem to still enjoy congregating at one of the Waterside District’s many taverns, such as The Drunken Drow.
The Dwarves find themselves in the neighbouring district, once Askew Vale, now Axe Vale. The Dwarves fight to expand Axe Vale, as they feel they have been placed in one of the poorer areas of False Hope and are always striving to improve their station. However, the Dwarves are in control of one of the few reservoirs in the city, a fact that they flaunt near constantly in negotiations for more space.
The Gnomes make-do in the district of New Beren, formerly known as the Brackish district. Although many of the buildings are not built for beings their size, the Gnomes seem content to work on their inventions to ensure the safety of False Hope.
Controlling the production of alcohol are the Halflings, in their district of Weammudram, from small distilleries. The Halflings seem embittered by their lot, leading many young Halflings into lives of crime, often expanding into The Dregs to seek more opportunities for big heists.
The Dregs is a huge slum that makes up a majority of the Eastern side of the city. Made up of outcasts, ne’er-do-wells and races who could not find a district of their own, the inhabitants feel as if they have simply been dumped in the slums and forgotten about by The Last Hope, which is not entirely untrue.
History
Falshune was established after the Green Exodus, in which an alliance of Humans, Gnomes and Halflings rooted out the native Goblin population and forced them to Green Man's Rock. While the Gnomes left for Beren and the Halflings for Addersfield, the Human settlers built a small village which they named Falshune.
However, the village wouldn't start to develop in earnest until the construction of the Terminus Bridge which connected False Hope Island to the Kthombru mainland. This allowed for the development of trade, and soon a city grew from the humble village, becoming the second largest city of Kthombru.
However, tragedy struck when The Godrot Incident occured. Formerly a predominantly Human city, the Godrot has caused a massive influx of new arrivals, turning the once glorious city into an overcrowded slum almost overnight. To make living conditions even worse, The Ward was established, blocking out the sky and preventing all movement in and out of the city. In order to protect the shaky alliances between the races, and to ensure the society lasts as long as possible, the city was divided into six districts, one for each of the main races of Kthombru, and a nigh-forgotten slum ward.
