Bloodlines System

She had long ago customized it to her desired layout, minimizing the unimportant things and bringing front-and-center information she liked to study. In the top right corner, the word bloodlines flashed. Pulling it open, she looked at the ever-branching tree of her legacy’s bloodline. It had been the secret to her family's power. When all other bloodlines had been lost and sealed away the day her ancestors had sealed this world. Hers had not. Instead, it had remained intact, set as a safeguard to protect the seals. Tia Aeternum  mused that if her father hadn’t been killed when she was an infant, he probably would have taught her about bloodlines and their sacred duty. Perhaps she could have prevented what was coming if she had known. Instead, she had stood by when the heroes brought the mark of bel to her. She had pushed the worry aside, suggesting they would handle it later while she focused on Edwards.
Many people didn’t yet understand the power of bloodlines. Tia knew that Lyra Cassani  the first to have obtained one, would only be two or three tiers deep. However, in time if she survived to pass it along to her heirs, the bloodline would begin to evolve, adding her story to that of Nanjuk Kinguilla.  If she nurtured that and passed it down to her heirs and those to theirs, each caring for it. They would be able to see all the various paths choosing to activate their own nodes with more clarity than their previous ancestors. In this way, it recorded the families' histories and allowed each generation to become more honed and powerful. Tia’s family had been doing this for thousands and thousands of years. It was a sacred practice that she had been forced to learn independently after her father had been murdered.  Tia willed the skill tree to change its display. Focusing on a particular section, she called up the path Liala Aeternum  had taken. The nodes lit up, showing a winding path that was frankly staggering. The sheer power and accomplishment the woman had managed to achieve was overwhelming.

Method of Obtaining a Bloodline:

There are various methods for obtaining bloodlines. 

1. The first is through inheriting it. This can only be accomplished by someone who transfers their lineage to their direct descendant.
2. The second method is accomplished by killing and absorbing someone else's bloodline. Doing this can potentially twist its evolution, giving the person who absorbed it unknown and undiscovered results.
3. The third method is that which most of you have been seeking. It starts with an item that is personal to a person who owned a bloodline but has since died without passing it on to a descendant. This journey typically has you complete an unfinished desire of the previous owner. During this path, you learn about yourself and the previous owner. In this way, when you absorb the bloodline, it can evolve without corruption.
4. In extremely rare cases, there is a potential to birth a new bloodline through great acts. More often, the death of a powerful person creates a new bloodline that can be absorbed and passed on to someone new.  In this way, their legacy is preserved. 

Note: Whenever a bloodline is obtained, the skills are reset. However, the method of obtaining the bloodline may afford those who have activated it to start with a deeper understanding of the potential bloodline paths.

Earning Bloodline Points to Expand Skill Tree:

Everything, including us, is made up of essence that is of the weave, the fabricate of existence. Plants, animals, monsters, me, you. We are all from the same fabricate. As we grow, our vessels," Tia Aeternum  says, motioning to her body. “continue to grow as well, allowing us the capacity to hold more essence within ourselves. The weave does not differentiate between vessels. It only fills each to its current capacity. As you gain certain amounts of essence within you, it translates within us, and we gain the ability to begin to influence how our bodies evolve in small ways. The notifications and menus you see are a binary representation of you and your accomplishments. As is true in most life, most people will achieve a certain level, unlocking the beginnings of their true potential.  However, like many other things, potential and opportunity do not guarantee achievement. In this way, though everyone may have the potential to obtain a bloodline, only so many will realize this accomplishment.  Those of us who can then must pursue and nurture the growth of that bloodline by continuing to perform great deeds that push our bodies and lives to greater growth. 
For every 500 points of XP you are awarded, you can obtain 1 blood point that can be applied to your bloodline skill tree.  There may be additional methods to earn Bloodline Points (BP), and additional ways to expand your Bloodline Skill Trees.  However, these processes have not been documented in the Histories of our world and must be discovered.
