Foundation Age

The Foundation Age is one of the five periods of history defined in human scholastic tradition, such as that of The Esteemed University for the Pursuit of Multidisciplinary Knowledge, Scholarly Excellence, and Advanced Intellectual Endeavors in Cliffgarden. The Foundation Age is defined as the time between the adoption of writing on the continents of Osthas and Oranil to the rise of the great empires who leveraged alliances with powerful Planars to achieve unprecedented power and stability, which typically occupies the years from 2746 BG to 774 BG.

Events

A number of events mark the Silent Age. Some are included below. In addition, the Foundation Age was also when the elves began to build their civilizations and slowly acquired aims for domination over all of Osthas, the kobolds grew their dominion to stretch from the great northern sea to the south through dryad territory, the nymphs were hunted to extinction by the ogres and the Jotunn, the Jotunn giants crossed the sea and subjugated the lizardfolk of Ganar, the height of goblin civilization was reached, the dwarves began to retreat from the surface world further and further into the Kinbund Caverns, humans displaced centaurs from the Moonbell Plains and much of the Polex Peninsula, the first great empires of the Duskwalkers rose, the elves eradicated the valkyries of the Aureshield Lake region and the golems of the Heavenfall Mountains, and the dragons wreaked havoc while the Planars were just beginning to gather worshipers and explore their potential on the mortal plain.
