Godslaughter

The Godslaughter was perhaps the single most impactful event in the history of the world, and yet the specifics of what happened in the mountains of central Osthas are lost to time. Known history is, by convention, typically divided into periods BG, Before-Godslaughter, and PG, Post-Godslaughter.
The Godslaughter is known to have occurred in the Heavenfall Mountains, by tradition on Mount Pestis. Over the course of a few hours, a group of mortal soldiers killed a staggering number of powerful extraplanar beings who had gathered to discuss the alarming tales of insurrections among the mortals. The event which marked a sharp decline in the level of Planar activity on Pruth, ushering in a new era to the world. The slaughter of so many powerful beings had intense ramifications which rippled throughout Annagra. Although the event is considered to be historical by all serious academics, the tale has ballooned and branched throughout the centuries such that it is not always easy to tell what is true and what is false. The broader Deicide is a much more robustly documented historical event, but the climactic final battle left nearly all of its participants dead or missing. Those few members of Vorek Godslayer's forces who did manage to survive did leave writings behind, but their persecution at the hands of the rest of the world saw the destruction of many of these accounts and the execution of most of the survivors. What has survived to the present day are largely accounts several steps removed from the primary sources of the event.
When Vorek Godslayer killed the assembled gods, their number consisted of both Planars, Sylphans, and even a small group of Primordials. During the Tenebral Age which followed the event, the world was given over to the mortal races.
