The Fall of Valetempo

A major disaster, whose nature remains unknown to this day, struck the capital of the Agaletian Empire, Valetempo. The after-effects of this disaster brought an end to the Agaletian Era and plunged the world into a dark age.

Without warning, disaster struck the Imperial Capital. All at once, the heart of the Empire vanished without a trace into the Nethergrande, and with it fell the network guiding the Aetheric Gates, rendering them useless as a result. With the Gates rendered inert, the imperial provinces fell into disarray - surviving governors proclaimed themselves rulers of their lands, while unrest and strife quickly consumed those whose governors were in Valetempo at the time of the Fall.
