This is the point where historians argue the world of Anira was broken.
This is a high-level timeline of major events affecting the Aethergrande.
A once glorious paradise was destroyed forever, or so many mythologists conclude. The world beneath was thrown asunder, clothed in miasmic energy and turning into the Nethergrande, while what remains of the landmasses hurled into the air turned into the various islands of Anira. Long did disparate tribes of humans and other races cower under the darkness of this age, until the light of Te-O-Dalina shone forth across all who would behold it.
The Agaletian Era was the period when the Agaletian Empire exerted its dominance over Anira. Though other smaller city-states and civilisations existed at this time, Agaletia held absolute sway in terms of geopolitics.
A major disaster, whose nature remains unknown to this day, struck the capital of the Agaletian Empire, Valetempo. The after-effects of this disaster brought an end to the Agaletian Era and plunged the world into a dark age.
After the catastrophic fall of Agaletia, the inactivation of its gates, and the disappearance of the island so core to the empire, Anira fell into chaos. Minor lords established nation-states on their home islands. One king after another attempted to establish himself as Agaletia reborn, only to falter. From this age was born desperation, and in turn innovation, which would ultimately lead into the prime mover of the successor nations: Airships.

With the birth of the airship and the rapid spread of its technology throughout the world, Anira breathed anew. Once more, islands could interact and trade with each other. One by one the disparate nations came together to marvel at the wonder that mankind had, from his imagination, had brought into reality.
When airships first graced the world Anira, they were primarily seen as novelties. However, as airships became more and more ubiquitous in the Floating World, it gave way to industrial use and what was seen as a golden age of airships.
The first powered airship, the Junah makes a sustained flight, from the Emirate of Furda to one of the neighbouring, unoccupied islands.
The world's major powers have ceased their escalation of arms, opting instead to unite under the flag of trade and commerce. Under the sway of the Hanseatic League, Anira enjoys a period of relative peace, despite her continents being immensely difficult to travel through.
The major trade powers of the known world come together and found a trade league that crosses all boundaries in the Aethergrande.
A catastrophe in Mirand results in permanent cloud cover spreading over the land, wrapping the land in darkness and giving rise to its nickname, the Evernight.
On this day, King Ramyas died, splitting the kingdom in three between his daughters.
The War of The Five Banners was a 3-year conflict between two Lerman factions, one who wished Lerma to be subsumed by a warring faction in the Emirate of Sifr, and another who wished to preserve Lerman sovereignity.
The crew are dispatched to the Library of Kalle in an attempt to retrieve some books.
The crew are sent, on behalf of the Emirate of Furda, to investigate a ruin called the Tower of Ivory.
With the crew now in possession of the riddle from the The Tower of Ivory, all that remains is to solve it, and discover a secret left behind by the Agaletians.
