The Elves of Andúnё
The ancient Elves have thrived for millennia, traveling across all of Andúnё. Their ancestral lands once covered almost half the known continent, but are now reduced in size to the still vast lands known generically as the The Marches of Laethralla.
Elves come in many hues and sizes, as many as there are human. The two most prominent and common variations are the High Elves and the Wood Elves, yet many other people exists who are counted amongst the Elven Houses, but they are rare outside the confines of the Marches.
The Elven people are organised in Houses, some of which can trace their roots almost all the way to when Elves first appeared on Andúnё. Elves outside the homeland can often still claim allegiance to one of the Houses, even if generations have passed since their kin set foot in the Marches.
Whether those expatriate Elves put any stock in such sense of belonging is a matter of personal upbringing and choice.
Most Elves will try to at least once in their lifetime visit the Great Forest, the siren call of which, it is said, however feeble, follows them to the grave.
