Wood Elves
The Elves of Andúnё
The Houses of those who are known by non Elves as Wood Elves, are by and large Houses of good standing, albeit only a few of them are counted amongst the high nobility of the People. For the most part, In Laethralla, the Wood Elves tend to be a nomadic ilk. They travel the land following the seasons, concerning themselves with the upkeep and harmony of the Great Forest that covers most of what is today considered the Elven country.
They are, of all the Houses, the Elves most in tune with nature, it's vegetation and the many sentient beings that live in harmony with it.
A little more isolationists than most, The Wood Elven would like nothing more than to keep non elves out from underfoot, and they are the most exposed to confrontation with the neighbouring countries, on account of having many of their settlements near the borders their lands share with those countries.
During the war that brought the Empire to life, it was they who suffered the greatest casualties. Some say that if ever the Elven nation decided to reclaim their lost territories or their independence from the Empire, the Wood Elves would be at the heart of the war that would ensue.
Despite their nationalistic pride, the nomadic nature of the Wood Elves and their innate curiosity to see and experience the world has also meant that they are some of the most well traveled of the Elves, even outside the confines of the Marches.
Over the centuries, several settlements of Wood elves, usually small villages, have cropped up all over Andúnё, and many of the Elves that seem to be perfectly integrated with the countries they live in are in fact of Wood Elven stock.
They tend to mix their ancestral customs with the cultures they see flourish around them.
