Waves of Amethyst

There are stories from across the world about monstrous purple waves. Believed to have taken place sometime during the Lost Age, many Beastfolk tell stories of seeing a large beam of purple light descending from the heavens and striking the planet somewhere across the oceans. The sky took a purplish tinge and the planet shook with a thunderous roar. Many Beastfolk were horrified by the display, wondering what could have been to enrage the gods in such a way, but the worst had yet to arrive. Within a day those along the many coasts noticed a light purple streak along the horizon. Mesmerized, many gathered to see the unusually colored horizon, but by the time they noticed the water retreating from the beaches and the purple streak getting bigger, it was too late. Massive purple tsunamis struck coasts around the world, wiping out many coastal civilizations in less than a day. Several Beastfolk went completely extinct due to this event.

Manifestation

These tsunamis were said to have been as tall as mountains by the time they reached the coastline in some areas. When they hit the coastline, water rushed several miles inland, destroying countless settlements before the residents knew what happened. What was most noticeable about these tsunamis however, was their color. The purple beam that is mentioned in many beastfolk stories is actually believed to have been the 'A.O.'s' Homeland striking the planet, which in turn caused the tsunamis and created the Dura Mountains, and the Serpent's Teeth. It's not sure entirely what caused the water to turn purple, perhaps it was magic, or perhaps it was small particles of crystal that are common on the A.O.'s Homeland.

Localization
