Dogs have been bred for a variety of different purposes, from herding livestock, assisting in hunts, guarding homes, mounts for smaller folk, and even as pets.
Riding Dogs While there are several breeds that are specifically bred for riding purposes, just about any large breed of dog can be trained as a mount. Many smaller folk like to use dogs as mounts due to their intelligence, and boundless energy. There are specialized saddles made just for dogs.
