Deep Conglomerate
The Deep Conglomerate is a worldwide alliance of most good and many neutral Aquan Races, which have united to fight against the growing terrors that lurk and scheme in the deeps of the world.
Once united to form a barrier against Rgruushshs and the agressions of her children, it got an even more important responsibility with the dawn of the third age. As Nyarlathotep, the Old One, and his cult executed a dark ritual and the whole continent of Andaria trembled, hundreds of fissures broke open in the deepest areas of the seas. Out of these cracks swarmed hundreds and thousands of strange and unearthly creatures attacking everything in their sight. It seemed that Rgruushshs had allied with the Old Ones and created with them a new Aquan Race called the Urmash.
The closest outposts to the fissures were destroyed in hours, in a bestial and savage attack. Quickly regrouping the alliance struck back hard and six great underwater wars were fought, with an uncountable amount of skirmishes and deaths in the ten thousands.
With the end of the last war the Deep Conglomerate pushed the invaders back, deep into the cracks and caverns they came from. Most of the cracks were closed and sealed off, and an eerily span of peace began. It was 50 years into the fourth age that first traces reappeared and that the Urmash were back; apparently having learned from their previous mistakes, they seem to try a more stealthy approach, attacking only when having superior numbers or other advantages. It seems that even having regrouped and refilled their ranks, they intend to fight and win this war another way...
Since the Deep Conglomerate have realized this, they started sending scouts into all corners of the world, gathering informations and new allies. The lack of knowledge of the enemy plans makes the Conglomerate nervous.
Magic
Having developed under strongly different conditions than the dry-races, or land-walkers as they are sometimes calles, many different forms and expressions of magic have formed in the Aquan Races. Many of the fundamental expressions of magic are more or less the same, as practised by druids, clerics and wizards, but their spell repertoire can vary from a bit to being completly different.Structure
The High Counsil
At the top of the Deep Conglomerate stands the High Counsil, represented by a few spokesperson of each Aquan Race, it decides of the collective direction the Conglomerate wants to take in the world affecting matters. The Monsterhunters
An Order of Monsterhunters is findable in every larger city, which is part of the Deep Conglomerate. The hunters of the Order protect the vicinity of their cities and mostly hunt dangerous beasts and aberrations. Latter often leads to collaborations between the Order of Monsterhunters and the Order of Salt. The Order of Salt
The largest confraternity of druids wordlwide is found in the Order of Salt, which represents the quintessence of the sea itself. They watch over the cycles of the nature below water and interfere wherever unnatural shifts take place or aberrations appear. The Oroshvi Network
The Deep Conglomerate are in wide parts connected by a complex communication system that allows to transfer messages to every part of the ocean in a reasonable amount of time. This is made possible by strategic positioning of mages, Aquan Races that focus on speed and many official stations, where a member of the Oroshvi Network can gain access to a specialized mount.Public Agenda
The Deep Conglomerate knows that their greatest foes are back with new armies and filled ranks. But they don't know why they won't attack, which means that somewhere a plan must already be in motion, which promises death and destruction. To gain informations on this plan and the locations of as many enemy strongholds as possible are the Deep Conglomerate momentary goals.
Territories
Igvurx
To the north of Yetheloth lies the city Igvurx. It is known for its large number of mercenaries, who let themself get hired by passing merchants as escorts through the evergrowing dangerous seas. Their services are expensive, but they are known for their loyalty and their extensive knowledge of possible dangers.Kruxarxis
Kruxarxis is the capital of the Alraun Imperium and lies well protected at the feets of a gigantic underwater massif. Kruxarxis lies far to the northeast of Andaria: circa on a level with Dunkrast and it is approximately 500 miles westward of the kingdom and continent Athuran away.Shirvox
A few houndred miles northeast of Dunkrast is located the capital of the Gorbtor Republic Shirvox. The Gorbtor Republic is mostly inhabited by Grabtians and keeps itself apart from a few trade relations completly isolated.Tirsthax
The capital of the Uri-Colon Republic lies circa between the cities Meertown and Sihthirth and is the only city, which is not completly under water. There are wide open parks with trees and grassed area, a market place, as well as part of the government district. All official and political events of the Uri-Colon Republic take place here.Religion
Even though the Aquan Races vary so very much in appearance from one to the other, they are all connected by their origins. For all the Aquan Races believe in the same creator deities: Rgruushsh, who created the foundations of the world, by taking one of her own scales and Aloor Warrshmirr, the godess of the Sea and the Oceans, filling the huge, dry and unfertile land with water, making it habitable.
At the beginning both were good friends creating together the first Aquan Races, which should live freely and wild in the large and rich oceans. But as Rgruushsh grew more and more angry at the dwellers on the land, burrowing into the ground, she created with so much effort, the relationship became colder and they both started minding their own buissness and creating Aquan Races on their own. It was when one of Aloor Warrshmirrs races, started to build permanent construction, that the era of peace under water ended.
Foreign Relations
Being scattered all over the oceans the Deep Conglomerate has established relationships all over the coasts of Langraan. Even though being treated often with fear and rascism, having a greater goal in mind, the Conglomerate tries to persuade locals and solve problems peacefully, sometimes by simply bribing the local races.
The most important things they seak in polititcal relationships is having ears and eyes on the dry land, fearing their enemies went on terrain they can follow less easy.
Apart from that many Aquan Races are keen in trading with the land-walkers for gaining rare or unknown products; so do the land-walkers, for the same reasons.
Information is the key.
