Auron is a young mage with the uncommon physical features of a half-elf. He has a slightly naive and very curious nature, yet seems to not fit in quite well with society. A bit socially awkward, not very knowledgeable about Tevinter's culture and etiquette, he sometimes seems a bit lost - and actually it's not clear where he even came from or how he ended up in Schwarzstein before meeting Mira and Maxfield. His fashion sense of a weirdly coloured cape, poofy pants, no proper shoes, and his tendency to rather hit enemies with his staff than to fight with his magic only add to his weird but still loveable personality.

In Chaos and Decisions it is revealed that Auron confided in Maxfield and told him that he is in fact no mortal, but a spirit of Curiosity that came to this world to get to know it and its inhabitants better.
