Temukar Elves
The Temukar are one of the two main ethnicities of Elves. Their main homelands are the northern steppes, where their superb bow-armed light cavalry have the space to operate most effectively. While most of the rest of Erelik know of them through the totem-clans that roam these steppes, there are also clans that live a more settled life further to the west, where there are even Temukar cities.
Politically, the Temukar rarely achieve political unity at an organisational level higher than the clan, although there have been a few Temukar empires. These have normally come about through an unusually talented and energetic warlord subjugating neighbouring clans, and have normally fallen apart equally quickly on the death of the founder. Like all elves they are theoretically immortal, but incessant warfare normally limits most Temukar to lifespans of 400-600 years or so.
Unlike the Salelkar Elves, and as part of their nomadic lifestyle, the Temukar are linked to their totem animals, rather than the land itself. Their lands therefore do not exhibit the Great Season effect that Salelkar Elves realms do.
