rishki
Rishki translates literally into English as "first friend." "Fledge-mate" is another English translation.
Qualifications
Rishkim are also bethkim, having been hatched together and raised by the same trainers.
Duties
Rishkim are more likely to raise a clutch of fledglings. If an angel does not have a rishki or he is currently unavailable, they will fall back on one of their other bethkim.
Benefits
Rishkim are deeply bonded in a manner sometimes compared to human twins. They often know when the other is in trouble, emotionally unstable or injured. While this closeness allows them to always have a companion, they also suffer extreme anxiety and depression if separated for long periods of time. This anxiety led to rishkim always been assigned to the same squads in regimental society.
Cultural Significance
Because regimental angels crave a closer connection due to the errors in their coding, rishkim are more common and more deeply bonded than in Edenic society.
