bethki

Bethki is translated into English approximately as "clutch-mate" or "nest-mate."

Requirements

To become bethkim, angels must be hatched together and raised/trained by the same instructors.

Duties

It is expected that two bethkim will raise at least one clutch of eggs during their lifetimes. Most commonly, the closest bethkim--known as rishkim--will pair together for this.

Cultural Significance

Bethkim consider each other blood brothers. They often interact over years as human siblings do, sometimes antagonistic, sometimes benevolent, always coming back to a state of "family." Among regimental angels, this is an externally constructed relationship while it exists more organically among Edenic angels. In Edenic society, bethkim are usually related by blood on at least one side.

Notable Holders

Kestrel and Sarael are bethkim.
