Creation of the Creator
In Ahnadhus, Thaev is the Supreme God, creator of everything. This belief worked until the Dagdarí migrated to Órlekanú, bringing with them a new belief system. The Dagdarí believed in four elemental beings, Tahla, Rask, Dírna and Japo which are fire, ice, earth and air respectively. They believed that the four elements combined forces thousands of years ago to form the universe and everything in it.
There was some initial conflict between the Gaenans and the Dagdarí until it became accepted in Ahnadhus that the four elemental beings created Thaev who then created the universe as the idea of completely disregarding the existence of elemental beings was looked down on as it easily explained the dragons and their powers.
Spread
The idea that Thaev is the product of the four elements is most popular in Dagdír where the four elements are worshipped almost as much as the nine gods of Ahnadhus.
It is less popular in Gaenel where most believe Thaev to be the first being and the ultimate creator. The belief is held in some places in Gaenel but for the most part is a largely ignored part of the religion.
In Kíathandí this belief is widely known but is not paid much attention. Some areas, such as the outer islands, believe more strongly in the four elements.
Variations & Mutation
The most common variation states that all nine of the gods were formed from the four elements, not just Thaev. This is found mostly in Southern Dagdír as this region is the least influenced by Gaenel.
Another variation goes even further and states that the nine gods are either simply puppets for the four elements or that there are only four true gods and the rest are only echos or variants of the true four, those gods being Naestha, Júkla, Fautól and Ólundae for earth, air, fire and ice respectively.
